A great read, informative and worthwhile.
For technical traders of all markets, this book is a must-have. From the most elementary techniques to the most complicated, this book puts all relevant concepts in an easy to understand, yet thorough, study. My own trading has become much more efficient, selective, and profitable since I read Stanley Kroll's BUSINESS ONE IRWIN GUIDE TO THE FUTURES MARKETS, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to gain similar results

Irwin's Legal and Regulatory Environment of Business (Irwin Legal Studies in Business Series)
Published in Hardcover by McGraw-Hill Higher Education (15 January, 1996)
Authors: F. William McCarty and John W. Bagby
Average review score:

Excellent Introductory to Business Law
Professor J. Bagby is a business law professor in Penn State. This book is full of up-to-date and interesting examples and cases that illustrate the major concepts and rules of law. Like other business law textbooks, this is quite a heavy book and the contents are quite intense. No matter whether you are purchasing this book for a class, or read it as a reference, this is a good book to get.

Islands Out of Time: A Memoir of the Last Days of Atlantis
Published in Hardcover by Doubleday (August, 1985)
Author: William Irwin Thompson
Average review score:

evocative novel
Islands Out of Time is an engaging, compelling novel. The drama of the end of Atlantis is created through interesting characters and a complex scenario. The esoteric references are well woven through this well written novel. Thompson is a poet and an historian = he brings all his skills into the writing of this book. I wish he'd write more novels.

The Jail: Managing the Underclass in American Society
Published in Paperback by University of California Press (June, 1987)

Average review score:

A stunning account of US jails, their effects & function
A remarkable inside account, inspired by Goffman, of the effects of jail on inmates and the social functions of jails in the US: managing the "rabble" and enforcing a social order built on vertiginous inequalities. Superbly written and argued, a model of responsible social inquiry

Life and Health Insurance Law (The Irwin Series in Finance)
Published in Hardcover by Richard d Irwin (April, 1994)
Author: Muriel L. Crawford
Average review score:

Easy Reading
This book is the third level (not including ACS) in obtaining your FLMI designation. Of the LOMA books I have studied, this has been the easiest reading. The case studies in the book were easy to understand. This book is well written and very interesting. If studied/read all the way through, you will receive a vast knowledge of insurance and how federal/state laws play a part in the insurance world.

Living Language Spanish Dictionary: Spanish-English English-Spanish (Living Language)
Published in Paperback by Living Language (March, 1993)
Authors: Irwin, Ph.D. Stern and Irvin Stern
Average review score:

Best words-and-phrases English/Spanish hip-pocket reference!
Most useful for its size. The key 2000 of 20000+ Spanish words are in caps. Concise, it doesn't waste your time but gives you a best return on your most precious investment -- your own effort. Its only real fault is that words referenced on the English section (appropriately somewhat smaller than the Spanish section) do not always appear in the Spanish section, and vice versa, though this fault seems universal in English-Spanish references. The only English-Espanol reference I liked well enough to send to our son in Peru.

Losing Paradise: The Growing Threat to Our Animals, Our Environment, and Ourselves
Published in Paperback by Square One Publishers (January, 2003)
Author: Paul G. Irwin
Average review score:

Losing Paradise: The Growing Threat to Animals Our Environme
This is a recent publication by Paul Erwin, President and CEO of the Nation's largest animal protection organization, the Humane Society of the United States, with seven million members. Mr. Irwin has written a landmark book for the layman and clearly presents irrefutable evidence that humankind is on a reckless collision course with the Earth. He presents an alarming and compelling look at how critical the situation is today for our resources, our endangered wildlife, and for human life itself. Never in the history of our planet is it more important for the information in this book to reach millions of readers. It would behoove all of humanity, from housewives to board members of mega international corporations, to heed these warnings.

In Losing Paradise the author paints a shocking picture of the degree to which greed and recklessness have already devastated this planet. My feeling while reading this book was that it is becoming not so much a struggle to save paradise, but to salvage the wasteland we have created of that paradise. As a single example, the clearcutting of ancient forests all over the world is threatening to wipe out future medicines before scientists are given the opportunity to harvest the plant specimens. These magnificent rainforests are being destroyed with total abandon along with possible cures for cancer or other incurable diseases of mankind.

However, the author also offers the hope of solutions and simple and effective steps that can and must be taken if life as we know it can continue on this planet.

I would strongly urge anyone interested in the environment, in the future, and in the future for their children and their progeny to read this compelling book on the dire threats to our earth and all living things on it.
